Ticketing technology provider vivenu has introduced a self-service kiosk designed to reduce box office lines and allow eventgoers to purchase tickets without assistance from employees, according to a press release. The vivenu Kiosk integrates with the company's existing ticketing platform, allowing customers to select events, pay by card and receive printed tickets with QR codes or email confirmations. SMS delivery also is available in the United States.
The kiosk uses the same ticket inventory as an organizer's online store and processes transactions through vivenu Managed Payments. Its touch-screen interface supports English, German and French, along with reserved seating, promotional codes and vouchers. Venue operators can customize the display with their branding, while security features include PIN-protected settings, automatic resets and an offline fallback. Tickets generated through the kiosk are compatible with vivenu's access-control system, allowing customers to proceed directly to entry.
Germany's Hockenheimring racing circuit was among the first venues to deploy the technology. According to vivenu, the kiosk processed 20% of day-of-event ticket sales during its initial use, reducing box office lines while collecting customer contact information for follow-up communications.
