German hospitality technology company Straiv has introduced the Kiosk | PULSE, a modular indoor self-service system designed to automate hotel check-in and checkout, according to a press release. Developed with German kiosk manufacturer Pyramid Computer, the system combines Straiv's guest-service software with industrial hardware and a service and support program. Preorders opened Sept. 15.
The kiosk can collect guest information, process payments, issue room keys and handle arrivals and departures around the clock. Hotels can deploy it as a countertop, wall-mounted or freestanding unit, allowing properties to use the system alongside front-desk employees or as part of a fully automated operation. Features include a 23.8-inch privacy touchscreen, a passport scanner, motion sensors, payment-terminal connections, accessibility keypads and an RFID card dispenser that retrieves unused cards.
Straiv said the kiosk is intended to help hotels manage staffing shortages, higher operating costs and busy arrival periods. The company is offering a 10% discount on hardware preorders through Oct. 31 and plans to add an outdoor kiosk to its product line in the first quarter of 2027. Straiv provides digital guest-journey technology to more than 3,400 hotels in 30 countries.
