Malaysia-based Vendfun has introduced the Nano-S, a compact self-check-in kiosk designed for independent, boutique and smaller hotels seeking to automate guest registration without requiring large lobby footprints, according to an ITBrief Asia report.

The fifth-generation hospitality kiosk combines a receipt printer, passport and ID scanner, payment terminal and card dispenser in a detachable unit. Hotels can also offer paperless check-in by sending receipts electronically, while the payment terminal supports security deposit pre-authorizations during the check-in process.

The Nano-S includes a built-in loyalty program that automatically enrolls guests during check-in and rewards repeat stays. Vendfun's proprietary passport and ID scanner is designed to read identity documents from multiple countries using the company's document recognition technology. An optional HD camera provides facial verification and video concierge capabilities, while the feature is standard in Singapore to comply with the country's E-Visitor Authentication Ready program for digital identity verification.

Since entering the hospitality market in 2020, Vendfun has deployed more than 150 kiosks across 12 Malaysian states and expanded into Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Australia and the U.S.
