HID has integrated its ATOM document reader and U.ARE.U facial recognition module with Soloinsight's CloudGate visitor management platform and a self-service check-in kiosk manufactured by Connected Technology Solutions, according to a Security Journal Americas report.
The combined system is intended to help enterprises and critical infrastructure operators authenticate visitors before issuing access credentials.
Visitors receive a QR code after a host preregisters them through CloudGate. At the kiosk, they scan the code and present a passport, driver's license or mobile ID to the HID ATOM reader. The U.ARE.U module then performs facial matching and a liveness check. If the verification succeeds, CloudGate records the check-in, the kiosk prints a visitor badge and the host receives a notification.
The companies are targeting hospitals, data centers, offices, logistics hubs and other sites that require stronger identity controls and detailed visitor records. CloudGate maintains a centralized audit trail and connects with existing access control, human resources, identity management and security systems. Built at CTS' Wisconsin headquarters, the kiosk includes ADA-compliant features, a three-year warranty, installation services and technical support.
