Some self-service check-in kiosks at Singapore's Changi Airport stopped working on the morning of Nov. 2, according to a Straits Times report. Affected passengers couldn't check themselves in or print boarding passes, so some airlines switched to manual check-in.
Changi Airport Group (CAG) said the problem began around 8:30 a.m. and blamed it on "a global disruption in Advance Passenger Processing systems." CAG said other airports were affected too but didn't name them. It said check-in returned to normal for all affected airlines around 11 a.m.
The problems differed by terminal and airline. At Terminal 3, Garuda Indonesia's kiosks were down at about 10 a.m. Passengers on a Jakarta flight were sent to a separate queue for faster bag check, and the flight left on time. Singapore Airlines' kiosks in the same terminal appeared to work normally. At Terminal 4, kiosks for Korean Air, Cathay Pacific and Sun PhuQuoc Airways were out of service, and about 10 groups of passengers were waiting at manual counters. Most kiosks were working again by about 1:30 p.m.
