SSM Health has introduced self-service registration kiosks at its Fond du Lac Regional Clinic in Wisconsin as part of a lobby renovation designed to improve patient convenience, privacy and traffic flow, according to a KFIZ News report.
The kiosks, located at the facility's entrance at 420 E. Division St., allow patients to check in for hospital-based services without requiring assistance from registration staff.
The renovation, which began earlier this year, also included relocating the information desk to a more central location, creating private cashier offices for confidential registration and financial discussions, and redesigning the lobby to reduce congestion. The kiosks are intended to simplify registration and shorten wait times while allowing employees and volunteers to remain available for patients who need assistance.
Shane Smith, SSM Health Fond du Lac Market president, told the news outlet that the improvements reflect the organization's commitment to combining technology with personalized care. The health system emphasized that the kiosks are intended to supplement rather than replace face-to-face interactions. The project is part of SSM Health's broader effort to improve the patient and visitor experience throughout its Fond du Lac campus.
