Colorado museum gets state's first CPR kiosk

The American Heart Association will install Colorado's first Hands-Only CPR training kiosk at the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery, where visitors will have free access to interactive CPR instruction for one year, according to a NorthFortyNews report. The self-guided kiosk features an interactive touchscreen and a training mannequin that provides real-time feedback on hand placement, compression depth and compression rate. Representatives from the American Heart Association, BNSF Railway, Poudre Fire Authority and the museum are scheduled to participate in the launch event.

The installation supports the American Heart Association's Nation of Lifesavers initiative, which aims to double cardiac arrest survival rates by 2030 through increased public CPR training. According to the organization, more than 350,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests occur annually in the U.S., and immediate bystander CPR can significantly improve survival. Funding for the kiosk was provided by BNSF Railway.
