In order to provide credible data on the self-serve kiosk industry, Kiosk Marketplace is once again inviting readers to provide input for its annual Kiosk Marketplace Census.
Readers are encouraged to click here to fill out a questionnaire that will assist Kiosk Marketplace staff in compiling the annual census. The survey will take 10 to 15 minutes to complete. Industry members who complete the questionnaire will be entered in a random drawing for a chance to win a $100 Amazon gift card.
The census will provide statistics on the industry's size and scope, and will serve as a helpful tool in allowing companies in the industry to measure their performance against industry averages.
A report with findings from the survey will be presented on the Kiosk Marketplace website in early 2020.
The purpose of the census is to provide a quantitative summary on the growth of the kiosks industry and to identify trends driving industry growth. It will also provide information on kiosk operating costs, the most important kiosk benefits, the most promising kiosk technologies and the biggest challenges facing the kiosk industry.
Kiosk Marketplace developed the annual census in 2017 in response to requests from companies seeking reliable data on the size and growth of the self-serve kiosk industry. Response to the reports has been overwhelmingly positive, as companies active in the kiosk industry — or looking to enter the industry — require reliable information on the industry's size and growth for their business planning.
The report is divided into five industry segments: user organizations such as retailers or brands that offer kiosks; kiosk hardware manufacturers; kiosk software manufacturers; kiosk value-added resellers; and kiosk hardware component manufacturers. Participants are asked questions pertinent to their business segment only.
The survey does not include ATMs, snack vending machines, beverage vending machines and amusement machines.
The survey does cover self-serve kiosks used in wayfinding, omnichannel fulfillment, electric vehicle charging, cannabis dispensing, industrial supply dispensing, industrial/retail pickup lockers, HR/employee self-service, parking, vehicle registration renewal, restaurant self-serve, hospitality self-serve, customs processing, phone charging, transportation check-in, coupon dispensing/redemption, pharmacy self-service, photo processing, gaming/entertainment, printing, real estate services and rental payment.
Kiosk Marketplace asks participants to fill out the questionnaire to the best of their ability. A reliable annual census will help companies with their business planning and will ultimately enhance the quality and strength of the self-serve kiosk industry.
