Fairfax, Virginia-based Nash & Smashed is working with Qu's restaurant technology platform to support its franchise expansion.
Founded in February 2024, the halal-certified burger and Nashville hot chicken brand has 35 locations. More than 50 additional restaurants are under development, including markets in Richmond, Virginia and Delaware.
Qu's platform connects point-of-sale systems, self-order kiosks, kitchen displays, online ordering and third-party delivery. About 40% of Nash & Smashed's orders are digital, most of which arrive through the brand's own website.
The technology gives the franchise more flexibility to customize menus, create tiered offers and encourage customers to add items to their orders. Its previous POS system offered limited upselling capabilities and reporting, according to the company.
Early results show that the new kiosk-led locations are seeing check averages up to 70% higher than those of the brand's older stores.
Qu also provided a dedicated team to customize the platform, build menus and help franchisees implement the system. Owners now have access to more detailed performance reports and analytics across their restaurants.
"Our team works side by side with franchisees to configure the platform around how they run their business, so every new store opens ready to perform," Qu's chief revenue officer, Steve Melamed, said in a release.
"Seeing their guests trade up on the kiosk and their owners get a real view into kitchen performance is what serving smarter looks like."
Nash & Smashed said it plans to use the Arlington, Virginia-based Qu in future restaurant openings as it continues expanding its franchise network.
