Point-of-sale solution provider MyVenue has introduced Halo, an AI-powered frictionless checkout kiosk designed for high-volume hospitality settings such as stadiums, arenas, airports, convention centers, colleges and health care facilities, according to a press release. Customers place food and beverages on the kiosk's baseplate, where two high-resolution cameras identify the products and add them to the order before payment by credit card, loaded ticket or gift card.
The company said Halo processes purchases an average of 50% faster than conventional self-service kiosks, costs up to 82% less to operate than staffed concession counters and occupies up to 65% less space than competing systems. Its compact design allows operators to install multiple units in limited spaces, while automated product recognition frees employees to focus on restocking, alcohol compliance and customer assistance.
Halo is already operating at NHL, NFL, NBA and MLB venues, including Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida.
Vinik Sports Group Chief Financial Officer Casey Rodgers said in the release the system combines speed, reliability and portability with MyVenue's existing platform. MyVenue Chief Product Officer Brad van Wely said Halo interprets live camera images instead of relying solely on a stored photo library, enabling it to distinguish similar or overlapping products and add new items in less than 30 seconds.
