VisioLab has deployed 39 artificial intelligence-powered self-checkout units across six concession markets at Williams-Brice Stadium, home of the University of South Carolina's football team, according to a LinkedIn post. The installation was carried out with Aramark Sports + Entertainment as part of efforts to speed purchases and reduce time fans spend in concession lines, according to company announcements.

The system uses a camera and AI software to identify food and beverage items placed in a checkout area, eliminating the need to scan individual barcodes. Customers review their purchases on a screen before paying. VisioLab combines item recognition, point-of-sale functions and payment processing in a compact system managed through an iPad, according to its website.

Aramark announced the South Carolina installation Aug. 27 as part of its college football offerings for the 2026 season. In a subsequent LinkedIn update, VisioLab said the stadium's first three games with the technology generated record transaction throughput and revenue, although it did not provide sales figures.
