Education materials provider Follett Software has launched Accessit Kiosk, a self-service circulation solution for K-12 schools that expands the capabilities of its Accessit Library platform, according to a press release.

The software enables schools to deploy self-service borrowing and returns on existing devices, including laptops, tablets, Chromebooks, desktop computers and touchscreen monitors, eliminating the need for dedicated kiosk hardware or complex installations. The company said the tool allows schools to extend resource access beyond traditional library spaces while maintaining centralized oversight.

Built as a progressive web app, Accessit Kiosk integrates with existing school technology infrastructure and supports self-service access in classrooms, libraries and shared learning spaces. Students and staff can independently check out and return books, devices and other shared resources, while the platform automatically captures usage data to support asset management, literacy programs and budget planning.

The software also features a secure interface designed for unsupervised use, compatibility with existing school hardware and support for 15 languages.

Follett said the kiosk is designed to help schools create a distributed resource management system rather than relying solely on centralized libraries. School administrators gain real-time visibility into resources across campus, while educators and librarians can manage collections more efficiently. Accessit Kiosk is available as an add-on to the Accessit Library platform in all global markets where the software is offered.
