Delaware expands sports wagering with self-service kiosks

The Delaware Lottery has introduced self-service sports wagering kiosks at 89 licensed retailers and the state's three casinos, according to a Bay to Bay News report. The machines allow customers to place bets without completing paper forms or asking store employees to enter wagers.

Customers can insert cash and select from thousands of wagering options covering professional and college sports, individual player performances and some events already in progress. The kiosks expand the choices previously available at retail locations, where customers were generally limited to parlay cards requiring at least three selections. Users must be 21 or older, and identification is required to collect winnings.

Delaware Lottery Director Helene Keeley said the kiosks should save retailers time and make wagering more convenient. However, gambling addiction advocates have raised concerns about underage access and the potential for increased problem gambling. Delaware's sports lottery retailers handled 1.6 million wagers totaling $25.5 million during fiscal 2026, generating $4.1 million for the state's general fund.
