Delaware's State Bureau of Identification will introduce Idemia's SMART-E fingerprinting kiosks Oct. 5, replacing its staff-operated process, according to a press release. Customers will complete enrollment under the guidance and supervision of a remote agent via the kiosks' audio and video technology.
The kiosks collect fingerprints from all 10 fingers, capture a facial image, scan government-issued identification and accept electronic payments. They will be available at the bureau's office at 600 S. Bay Road in Dover and the Thurman Adams Center at 546 S. Bedford St. in Georgetown.
Customers must register and schedule an appointment through IdentoGO before visiting. They should bring accepted government-issued identification, an electronic payment method and the service code and paperwork required by the organization requesting their background check. The bureau said the rollout is part of its effort with Idemia and IdentoGO to modernize fingerprinting and background check services.
