Bluefin Payment Systems teams with ITC Systems on PCI-validated P2PE
Bluefin Payment Systems will provide its PCI-validated point-to-point encryption solutions to companies and organizations using ITC System's cash card management systems, according to a press release.
ITC Systems designs, develops and implements cashless transactions systems for university campuses, academic and public libraries, government departments, foodservice environments and other closed institutional settings.
ITC Systems will provide companies and organizations Bluefin's PCI-validated P2PE solution directly through its platform, enhancing payment security and reducing PCI scope with no change to the payment transaction flow. Bluefin enables PCI-validated P2PE on partner platforms with its Decryptx Decryption as a Service product, which allows gateways, applications and processors to directly connect to Bluefin for the P2PE service.
"More and more people, especially in a college setting, for example, are paying for goods and services through kiosks or unattended devices, making these payment terminals a ripe target for hacking," Greg Cornwell, Bluefin's senior vice president of security solutions, said in the press release.
Bluefin's PCI-validated P2PE solution secures credit and debit card transactions by encrypting all data within a PCI-approved point of entry device, preventing clear-text cardholder data from being available in the device or the merchant's system where it could be exposed to malware. Data decryption is only done offsite in a Bluefin hardware security module.
"In today's world of increasing credit and debit card fraud, it is vitally important, especially in self-serve payment locations, to have EMV standards incorporated along with point to point encryption for transaction security," said Cam Richardson, CEO of ITC Systems.
"Most universities and colleges that have the need for students to add funds using debit and credit cards are now able to implement this offering made possible through Bluefin and ITC Systems to ensure fraud-free, secure transaction processing," Richardson said.
Benefits of a PCI-validated P2PE solution for merchants and enterprises include reduced PCI compliance and scope, saving time and money on annual audits, and the assurance that the technology has been vetted and approved by the PCI Security Standards Council.
