The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles is opening its largest facility Oct. 26 in Las Vegas, featuring six self-service kiosks designed to expand access to motor vehicle services, according to a press release.

The Silverado facility includes two drive-through kiosks and four exterior walk-up kiosks that customers can use outside regular business hours. The 72,619-square-foot complex combines standard DMV operations with commercial driver's license services, replacing older facilities as the agency works to accommodate Southern Nevada's growing population.

The main DMV building features 60 customer service counters and 301 parking spaces. A separate commercial driver's license building includes 15 customer service counters, five Motor Carrier Division counters, a full-size commercial driving test course and parking for 42 passenger vehicles and 16 semi-trucks. The complex replaces the Henderson DMV office, a 18,540-square-foot facility built in 1997, and consolidates services previously provided at the North Las Vegas commercial driver's license office.

DMV Director Tonya Laney said in the release that the facility is intended to improve customer service through expanded capacity, accessibility upgrades and modernized infrastructure. The building incorporates enhancements designed to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act, along with additional space for customers and employees. The six self-service kiosks are part of the agency's broader effort to provide more convenient alternatives to traditional counter service, including options for customers who need to complete transactions outside normal operating hours.
