Vadzo Imaging has introduced the Falcon-234CGH, a 2-megapixel USB camera module designed to improve barcode scanning in self-service kiosks, ticketing terminals and interactive digital signage, according to a press release.
Built around the Onsemi AR0234 color global shutter sensor, the camera combines autofocus, image processing and exposure controls to address common scanning problems, including motion blur, inconsistent reading distances and glare from smartphone screens. The module features 1920-by-1200 resolution, a 74-degree diagonal field-of-view lens and USB 3.2 Gen 1 connectivity. Its global shutter captures the entire image simultaneously, helping prevent distortion when customers move tickets or phones in front of a scanner.
The Falcon-234CGH also includes voice coil motor autofocus, automatic exposure adjustment, white balance and noise reduction to improve image clarity under varying lighting conditions. Vadzo said the camera is suitable for airport check-in, event ticketing, retail self-service and digital signage applications. The company offers engineering assistance with lens selection, firmware customization and kiosk integration. Evaluation kits are available without minimum order requirements, allowing manufacturers and system integrators to test barcode-reading performance before placing production orders.
