The Indonesian National Police plans to introduce self-service kiosks that will allow residents to print police clearance certificates without dealing directly with an officer, according to a Streamline report. The certificates, known as SKCK documents, contain information about an applicant's criminal record and are commonly required for employment, immigration and other official purposes.

Applicants will enter their information through the police Super App, which has supported fully online SKCK applications since 2025. After approval, users will scan a barcode at a kiosk to print the physical certificate, eliminating the need to wait at a police service counter.

Police officials said reducing face-to-face contact should limit opportunities for unauthorized fees or extortion while making the service faster and more transparent. The agency expects to test 10 kiosks in Jakarta in 2027 before considering a broader rollout.
