Bibb County, Georgia, has opened its third self-service vehicle registration kiosk at Shoppers Value Foods on Thomaston Road in west Macon, according to a WMAZ TV report. Available daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., the machine gives drivers an alternative to visiting the county tag office during regular business hours.

Drivers can renew registrations by entering their license plate number and personal information or by scanning the QR code on a renewal notice or a driver's license. The kiosk identifies eligible vehicles and prints the new registration decal and a receipt. Store owner Chris Patel said about 12 customers used the machine on its first day.

The location was selected to serve west Macon's growing population and reduce the need for residents to travel downtown or to Riverside Drive. It joins kiosks at Kroger stores on Tom Hill Sr. Boulevard and Hartley Bridge Road, with additional installations planned. The machines can process renewals for vehicles registered in any Georgia county, not only Bibb County.

Georgia deployed DMV kiosks in Glynn County in June.
