'Football and kiosks and beer, oh my'

January 26, 2011

During the Super Bowl, the Bud Light Hotel in Dallas, Texas, will feature a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) application on Facebook, allowing guests to share experiences with friends by swiping wristbands at kiosks.

According to a press release from Anheuser-Busch, the service will allow people to use a Facebook application on Feb. 6 to sync their Facebook accounts with an RFID-enabled token. By scanning the token at an RFID reader, users can publish their activities to their profile pages without using a computer or mobile device.

At the Bud Light Hotel, guests will receive RFID-enabled wristbands that can be synced with their accounts at Bud Light kiosks fitted with readers. Guests can take and publish pictures directly to their news feeds with one swipe of the RFID bracelet at kiosks.

The 193-room Bud Light Hotel is a temporary re-branding of a hotel in the heart of downtown Dallas. After debuting during last year's big game in Miami, the Bud Light Hotel has quickly become a popular destination during the SuperBowl.
