The Broomfield Veterans Museum in Broomfield, Colorado, has introduced a touchscreen Veterans Honor Board that digitally preserves the stories of Colorado veterans, replacing the museum's former three-ring binders.

The interactive kiosk features biographies, photographs and military service records for about 200 veterans, according to a KDVR News report. Visitors can search profiles by name, branch of service or military conflict, making it easier to explore the state's military history.

Museum officials said the project took years to complete and required a significant financial investment. The touchscreen kiosk was made possible with support from a former kiosk manufacturing company owner and a chief engineer who supplied the hardware at little cost to the museum. Leaders hope the system will eventually grow to include thousands of veterans from across Colorado.

The museum is inviting veterans and their families to contribute service records and photographs so their stories can be preserved permanently. Profiles include veterans such as World War II Army 1st Lt. Frazer Arnold and Air Force Col. Lloyd Moir, who flew 75 combat missions during the Vietnam War. Museum leaders said the digital kiosk provides a lasting way for future generations to learn about the sacrifices and accomplishments of Colorado's veterans.
