Four interactive digital kiosks have begun operating on sidewalks in Culver City, California, following years of discussion and votes by the City Council, according to a Culver City Crossroads report. The installations are part of a partnership with IKE Smart City that calls for 15 kiosks across the community.

The kiosks will provide information about public meetings, community events, transportation, local businesses, tourism, emergency services and other resources. They will also display commercial advertising. Similar kiosk programs have operated for several years in California cities, including San Francisco and Berkeley.

The first four kiosks are located at Culver Boulevard and Lafayette Place, Washington Boulevard and Comey Avenue, Washington Boulevard and South Robertson Boulevard, and Culver Boulevard and Cardiff Avenue. Four additional units are expected to become operational during September, while the remaining locations are in permitting, preconstruction or construction.
