Dallas officials have launched the first phase of a new interactive digital kiosk network designed to improve connectivity, navigation and access to information across the city, according to a Dallas City News report.
The first kiosk was unveiled in the Deep Ellum neighborhood through a partnership between the city and IKE Smart City. The touchscreen kiosks provide free Wi-Fi, interactive maps and multilingual transit and mobility information, serving as community resource hubs for residents and visitors.
City leaders said the network will play an important role as Dallas prepares to host major international events, including the FIFA World Cup. The kiosks are designed to provide real-time event information, city guides and recommendations for local dining, entertainment and attractions, helping visitors navigate the city and explore its neighborhoods.
In addition to wayfinding services, the kiosks are intended to support local businesses and public safety efforts. Independent retailers and restaurants receive free directory listings, while the screens can display emergency alerts and other critical public information when needed. The network will also feature content from local arts organizations, showcasing community artwork and cultural programming as additional kiosks are deployed throughout Dallas.
