A caregiver support kiosk at the Airdrie Public Library in Airdrie, Alberta, Canada, is helping family caregivers find resources, peer support and a sense of community while navigating the challenges of caring for loved ones, according to a Discover Airdrie report. The kiosk, created by longtime caregiver Bryan Gilks, began as a small information center and has grown into a hub where caregivers can access guidance, connect with others facing similar situations and learn about available services.

The program addresses a common problem among caregivers: isolation. Many people caring for family members do not identify themselves as caregivers and often struggle to find support. Volunteers and participants say the kiosk provides a welcoming space where caregivers can share experiences, ask questions and receive practical advice from others who understand the demands of the role.

The success of the Airdrie initiative has drawn attention from caregiver advocacy groups, which see it as a model that could be replicated in other communities. Organizers say the kiosk combines information, social interaction and peer support in one location, helping caregivers feel less alone while improving awareness of available resources and services.
