Evolvending partners with Amish Pretzel Co. for airport kiosk rollout

The initial deployment is underway at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, where the companies said the menu has received a positive response from travelers. Additional airport installations are planned over the next several months.

The partnership adds pretzels and other snack products to Evolvending's expanding portfolio of restaurant and food brands. The company said the concept is intended to provide travelers with convenient access to hot food while complementing existing airport concessions.

"Our goal at Evolvending has always been to meet the evolving needs of airport travelers by providing hot, high-quality food around the clock," Evolvending CEO Valentina Ellison said in the release. "Partnering with The Amish Pretzel Co. adds a beloved, high-performing snack category to our automated dining platform, giving travelers even more variety while delivering the handcrafted quality and convenience they expect on the go."

The Amish Pretzel Co. was created by the team behind Ben's Soft Pretzels, which operates more than 185 locations in supermarkets, shopping centers and sports venues, including Michigan Stadium, Notre Dame Stadium and State Farm Stadium.

Pretzels offered through Evolvending's kiosks are hand-rolled and made without dairy, eggs, nuts, soy, sesame or artificial preservatives. The menu includes vegan-friendly selections for travelers with dietary preferences or restrictions.

Selections include:

Classic 3.5-ounce soft pretzels served with warm cheddar cheese or caramel sauce.
Pretzel bites with cheddar cheese or caramel sauce.
Cinnamon-sugar pretzels with warm vanilla sauce.
Pepperoni-and-cheese pretzels with marinara or pizza sauce.
Pretzel dogs with a choice of sauce.
Garlic pretzels with dipping sauce.
Dutch almond pretzels topped with almond crumble and served with dipping sauce.
