TablerTV teams with NEC for large-format touch 'tablets'

Hardware design house TablerTV has teamed with NEC Display Solutions to introduce a new line of touchscreen tablet products 10 times larger than cusumer tablets, according to an announcement from the company. With multitouch integration, NEC V-series displays can now be enabled as a touch monitor with full multitouch interaction, the company said. Starting from 42 inches, with a dual-core processor built-in, the displays become a giant tablet solution designed for professional and business use, the company said.

By monitoring the market demand and listening to the customers, the announcement said, TablerTV and NEC have chosen a multitouch chipset design for larger displays supporting up to a 200 fps scan rate, which allows for a smooth touch experience on the larger screens. (Larger screens need faster sensors than smaller, tablet-size screens.)

TablerTV also produces a 42-inch touchscreen overlay for the NEC V423, a 46-inch touchscreen overlay for the NEC V463 and a 55-inch touchscreen overlay for the NEC V552 for quick tablet setup and install, the announcement said.
