Rug Doctor recently deployed kiosks to simplify the rental and return process for its carpet-cleaning rentals.
"In order to automate and simplify the rental and return process for both our retailer partners and our customers, we are now utilizing self-serve touchscreen kiosks where it makes sense for our retail partners," David Kropp, Rug Doctor's Chief Information Officer, said in a company press release. "These automated electronic systems must adhere to the retailer security policies and compliance mandates."
Kropp said the company partnered with ByStorm Sofware, a data-loss prevention company, to secure the kiosks because it was looking for an affordable solution that was flexible. The companies have a multi-year agreement giving Rug Doctor access to ByStorm's FileSure system that tracks file accesses and controls who and what programs can access files/folders in the first place, and then manages what can be done with them.
