Redbox has signed an agreement with 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment to make Fox content available to Redbox customers seven days after retail sell-through dates, according to a press release.
"Redbox's national footprint ensures broad availability of Fox product to our rental consumers," Dan Mackechnie, executive vice president of North America distribution at Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, said in the release.
"Redbox is proud of our enduring value proposition of offering movies for as low as $1.50 a night at tens of thousands of locations nationwide," said Galen Smith, CEO of Redbox.
Redbox recently announced a national kiosk expansion to add 1,500 net new rental kiosks in 2017, and more planned in 2018. By the end of this year, Redbox will have more than 41,500 kiosks nationwide, a total larger than the number of Starbucks and McDonald's locations in the U.S. combined.
