Imageholders has teamed with ATS Heritage to install iPad tablet kiosks for a museum refurbishment, according to a press release.
The tablet kiosks are installed next to an exhibition displaying a 5-meter model of Winchester Museum. The iPad kiosks support the display, encouraging visitors to find out more about the history of Winchester Museum.
ATS Heritage produces audio guides, multimedia guides, smartphone and tablet apps for museums, galleries and heritage sites throughout the U.K., and provides multimedia guides and tours. ATS Heritage approached imageholders to securely enclose an iPad Air 2 on an angled mount.
The tablet kiosks are mounted on the wall of the display, using a counter mounted arm to provide the angle required for visitors to interact with the information.
"The use of tablet technology creates a user interface which allows for continuity, and provides accurate information which is able to constantly update and change," said Spencer Clark, director of ATS Heritage, in the release. "The solution is cheaper than print to update, and provides 24/7 information which volunteers or guides cannot always provide."
The tablet kiosks provide a solution which replaces hard copy information in the form of laminated information documents, or from volunteer attendants who aren't always available 24/7.
The Shell 10 is a secure tablet enclosure built to withstand heavy use in high traffic public spaces. The Shell range was designed to comply with a brief from a company that needed a secure counter mounted tablet enclosure for a restaurant chain. It is designed for any business that wants to secure tablets in situations where the initiative is prone to theft or abuse.
