South Carolina library adds self-service laptop kiosk

Borrowers return the laptops by docking them in the kiosk, where the devices can be secured and recharged for the next user. Personal information and saved files are erased after each return to protect patron privacy. Users who remove, fail to return or seriously damage a laptop may lose borrowing privileges and face a $1,000 replacement charge.
