Hotel chain rolling out retail kiosks

Kiosk and vending manufacturer AVT Inc. has recently reached an agreement with a major hotel chain to install its retail kiosks, UShop, as part of a pilot program. The UShop kiosk provides a variety of items such as cosmetics, sunglasses, apparel and perfume.

Kiosk and vending manufacturer AVT Inc. has recently reached an agreement with a major hotel chain to install its retail kiosks, UShop, as part of a pilot program. The UShop kiosk provides a variety of items such as cosmetics, sunglasses, apparel and perfume, according to a press release.

AVT said it is not at liberty to release the name of the hotel chain until the pilot program concludes. The deal marks another win for AVT, along with its recent coffee-kiosk deal with the U.S. Marines, since its Chapter 11 filing earlier this  month.

"This vote of confidence in our technology, service and ability to fulfill our contractual obligations comes at a key time in our company's history, and demonstrates that our innovative systems and focus on inventive core business technologies remain at industry-leading levels," AVT President Wayne Salvino said in a statement.
