South Korean hologram technology company Marketon has completed the installation of its educational hovering hologram systems at Columbia College in Vienna, Virginia, according to a AVING.net report, marking what the company describes as a significant step into the U.S. education market. The deployment includes seven 12-inch hologram units used as classroom teaching aids and two 24-inch hologram-powered unmanned information kiosks. Installation was completed on June 11 as part of a broader effort to expand the company's presence in North America.

The hologram systems are being used in the college's dental laboratory technology and culinary arts programs. Instructors can present three-dimensional images that appear to float in midair without requiring students to wear VR headsets or other equipment. Marketon said the technology helps explain complex structures and processes that are difficult to visualize using traditional two-dimensional displays. The 24-inch units also serve as self-service information kiosks, demonstrating the technology's potential for campus wayfinding and visitor information applications.

The project was supported through South Korea's Public Procurement Service Export-Leading Pilot Purchase Program, which helps innovative companies expand overseas. Marketon CEO Yang Chang-joon said the installation provided valuable experience in managing international logistics, customs and deployment challenges. The company plans to use the college installation as a springboard for further expansion into universities, museums, science centers and public information environments across North America.
