Sine, Honeywell's visitor and contractor management platform, has introduced Advanced ID Check for its SinePoint Pro iPad kiosks, adding automated identity verification to the visitor check-in process, according to a press release.

The feature allows visitors to scan a government-issued passport, driver's license or national ID card at the kiosk, where the system verifies the document, checks its expiration date and compares the ID photo with a live image before completing check-in.

Verification results are automatically attached to each visitor's pass and activity record, creating a timestamped audit trail without requiring manual document inspection. Organizations can configure verification requirements by visitor type, allowing higher-risk categories such as contractors to undergo additional review while maintaining a streamlined experience for routine visitors. Sine said the system stores only essential verification data and does not retain document images, identification numbers or dates of birth.

The company said the capability is designed for organizations with strict security and compliance requirements, including manufacturing, healthcare, construction, logistics and critical infrastructure. Advanced ID Check also validates document security features, confirms photo matches and flags expired identification before access is granted, helping reduce human error and strengthen site security.

The identity verification technology is powered by Regula Forensics, whose platform is used by organizations in more than 250 countries and territories, including some border control agencies. Sine said the addition of Advanced ID Check expands the role of its self-service kiosks by combining visitor registration with automated identity assurance and compliance documentation.
