Advanced Kiosks has partnered with government services and technology contractor ASRC Federal to deliver touchless identity verification kiosks for a pilot program conducted by the Transportation Security Administration at airports across the United States, according to a press release.

The pilot included the deployment of 45 Touchless Identity Solution kiosks at 15 airports as part of an effort to improve airport checkpoint security and passenger processing efficiency.

The companies collaborated on the design, development and production of the systems, which are intended to modernize identity verification at TSA screening checkpoints. The kiosks were engineered with reinforced steel frames and adaptable mounting systems that allow them to fit different airport layouts and operator configurations. Officials said the systems' lightweight design and portability make them flexible for changing checkpoint environments.

Under the project, ASRC Federal managed the overall contract, developed the software platform, oversaw airport deployments and continues to maintain the fielded systems. Advanced Kiosks handled hardware design and manufacturing at its facility in Concord, New Hampshire, using 3D-printed components to accelerate prototyping and production.

"The timeline was extremely tight," said Howard Horn, president of Advanced Kiosks. "We had to innovate quickly — producing and testing parts in-house to ensure TSA received a secure, fully functional solution on time."

Advanced Kiosks specializes in secure self-service technologies for government and enterprise customers, including deployments for federal agencies, military bases and state and municipal organizations. ASRC Federal provides technology and mission support services for federal civilian, defense and intelligence agencies.
