German manufacturer introduces multipurpose POS kiosk

Format, a Germany based manufacturer, has introduced its POS Multi Terminal with a 31.5-inch touchscreen designed for multiple purposes, according to a press release. The kiosk can serve as a ticket and information terminal at airports and train stations; as an ordering screen for fast food restaurants; and as self-checkout system for supermarkets, among other uses.

Standard components include a note acceptor/dispenser, a coin slot and a coin return. Optional components include a barcode scanner, card dispenser, card reader, PIN pad and RFID/NFC reader.
