The Radiological Society of North America will showcase the Fujifilm SonoSite Inc. X-Porte Ultrasound Kiosk at the 100th annual meeting in Chicago, according to a Fujifilm announcement.
"The kiosk was created to serve a broad spectrum of users, from novice to advanced, and represents an entirely new design and use paradigm for ultrasound," said Jodi Miller, director, market development, FUJIFILM SonoSite, Inc, in the announcement. "FUJIFILM SonoSite designed the X-Porte to meet the needs of busy radiology departments looking for ideal portable ultrasound solutions."
The X-Porte Kiosk is Fujfilm's latest product in point-of-care ultrasound visualization. It is designed with new imaging technology, Sonosite's proprietary Extreme Definition Imaging. XDI is a beam-forming algorithm intended to improve visual capabilities from sidelobe radiation patterns. The resulting image appears cleaner, maximizing tissue differentiation, the company said.
X-Porte's cleanable, sealed user interface contains minimal crevices to facilitate better infection control. Its glass surface is designed to tolerate a wide range of disinfectants without deteriorating over time, according to the company's news release.
The kiosk's adjustable height and gesture-driven touchpad enable users to sit or stand, a feature designed for varied environments. Its slender structure allows navigation through narrow hallways and during bedside exams. A detachable core option is designed for low footprint settings.
