Stanford Cancer Institute has teamed up with SeePoint Technology to come up with a solution that would increase awareness and enrollment in clinical trials.
SeePoint deployed its VantagePoint Sterling kiosks that include multilingual, touchscreen features advertising cancer clinical trials enrollment. The kiosks were placed in the Cancer Center building, where they are available 24/7, the release said.
The units also have a search option allowing patients to find and sign up for hundreds of trials if they qualify. Users can also watch patients discuss their clinical trial experiences and connect with staff.
VantagePoint Sterling features a 22-inch monitor on a pivoting head and, to meet HIPAA standards, a filtered screen to keep information private. ADA compliance requires the units apply an antimicrobial coating to keep away "microorganisms, stains and odors," the company said.
