More than 1,000 Wendy's restaurants in North America will have kiosks in 2017, Chief Information Officer David Trimm stated at the company's recent investor day. More than half of the restaurants in North America will have mobile ordering.
Kiosks, along with apps and the web, bring the company's digital story to life, according to the investor day presentation, which is available on the company's website. The digital experience should drive brand relevance, build customer loyalty and deliver operational efficiencies.
"Kiosks give us the opportunity to innovate," the presentation stated. "Customers love them and so do we."
Three kiosks cost $12,000 to $15,000, the presentation noted, with payback in less than two years.
Kiosks are preferred by many customers and unlock kitchen capacity. They are also a gateway to mobile.
