Walmart tests kiosk for picking up online grocery orders

June 6, 2017

Walmart is testing a kiosk called 24-Hour Pickup at a store near Oklahoma City that allows shoppers to pick up online grocery orders, according to Supermarket News. Customers can place orders online and select self service as a pickup option. Customers receive a confirmation code to use to open a kiosk door to retrieve an order. The orders are assembled in less than 60 seconds.

The test is taking place in Warr Acres, Oklahoma, according to Scott Markley, a Walmart spokesperson.

The kiosk is 20 feet wide by 80 feet long and holds 30,000 items, including frozen and chilled products. There is a minimum order of $30.
