Rhug Estate, an organic estate and farm business located near Corwen in North Wales in the U.K. has introduced self-service vending machines and parcel lockers, according to a Wales247 report.
The move is part of an effort to improve convenience for rural residents while expanding access to locally produced organic food. The vending machines allow customers to purchase fresh products around the clock outside normal Farm Shop hours, helping accommodate busy schedules and reduce food waste.
The vending machines are stocked with Rhug Estate's own organic products and are designed to provide flexible access to fresh food during early mornings, evenings and weekends. The estate also installed InPost parcel lockers near its Farm Shop and Ice Cream Parlour, giving residents a closer location for parcel pickups and returns in an area where alternative courier services are more than five miles away.
Lord Newborough, owner of Rhug Estate, said the additions are intended to better serve both local residents and visitors while supporting the estate's sustainability goals. The new services come during a period of expansion for the estate, which recently highlighted environmental initiatives tied to carbon measurement and long-term net-zero objectives, as well as recognition including a Royal Warrant from King Charles III and its status as home to the United Kingdom's largest bison herd.
