People in Virginia can create their own personalized greeting cards via kiosks developed by startup Card Isle. Card Isle was born from a Virginia Tech Class project in 2013, according to a reportby the Roanoke Times.
Through the kiosks, users can select a generic or personalized greeting. They can also choose from 1,200 pieces of art to add to the card, according to the report.
Card Isle installed its first kiosk in a natural food store in Blacksburg, Virginia. It now has kiosks in 10 locations, and thanks to $500,000 in investments the company plans to add more than 50 new kiosks.
The company plans to expand to other locations, such as banks and hospitals, Card Isle co-founder Adam Donato said in an interview with the Roanoke Times. In addition, the company plans to develop an app to allow users to design cards on the go and print them out from a kiosk.
