TouchSystems intros multitouch LCD display

TouchSystems has announced the availability of the X 40, a six-touchpoint, commercial-grade LCD display designed for both aesthetics and durability, the company said in a news release.

The display's LED-backlit screen also allows for month-after-month reduced energy consumption and subsequent cost savings, according to the release. Other features include built-in speakers, a carbon footprint meter, a scheduler and internal temperature sensors with self-diagnosis tools and fans — all of which are purposed to improve performance and decrease costs.

"Many of our customers want a multitouch, large-format solution," said Carol Nordin, president of TouchSystems, in the release. "They either can't or don't wish to use our larger, available sizes, but require something larger than our 32 inch multitouch screens. Our 40-inch display is the perfect solution for them and offers them a touch solution that will last for years to come."
