TapSnap and industrial designers Olea Kiosks have teamed for the reimagining of the photo booth, creating what the companies refered to in a press release as "an open-concept, high-tech phototainment system that is fully integrated with social media."
The TapSnap system features a 42-inch touchscreen with a portable and adjustable stand. The white, minimalist look was designed to blend in at corporate events and functions, to be highly portable, and to provide entertainment for guests at special events.
Frank Olea, CEO of Olea Kiosks, said in the release that they tried to design the kiosk from the perspective of those who would rent it.
"A bride has spent thousands of dollars on dresses and décor and flowers. The last thing she wants is a big black box in the middle of her wedding," Olea said. "TapSnap had to have style. It needed to look clean. The white design means it just blends in. It is just really very simple. We went at it with the idea that less is more."
A two-part design allows for one-person transport and setup; the touchscreen and sawhorse-inspired stand can be put up and taken down quickly, the release said. The tablet is aluminum and the stand is milled-grade steel, making the solution lightweight, yet stable.
"TapSnap was designed with portability in mind," said Olea. "You won't find anything like that on the market right now."
