Signifi Solutions Inc has launched The Gamer, a kiosk designed to allow retailers to attach game consoles and offer demos, while customers can have access to online reservations and pre-pay options, guaranteeing them priority pick-up of game releases.
"The era of the specialized movie retailer may be drawing to a close in North America, as we witness the last vestiges of Blockbuster disappear, but the world of gaming is bigger than ever," Tom Hall, vice president of Sales at Signifi, said in a press release. "So now is a great time for the game retailer of any size – from corner convenience store to big box – to expand to new locations and present new options to the consumer. Retailer convenience and ROI are very important to us, and this new product solves a growing issue."
The kiosks have a large disc capacity and quick transaction times, according to the release. A game can be retrieved in about 8 seconds, and the multi-screen configuration speeds up service and reduces line-ups with simultaneous-user convenience.
Signifi's robotics and LCD advertising screen are housed in space-efficient modular designs that can be configured to expand with a growing business and customized to support any brand, according to the release. Signifi products are IBM-certified to the Store Integration Framework, and the company can tie in POS or retail payment systems.
