Sault College in Ontario, Canada is revamping its recruitment strategy with the introduction of interactive kiosks designed to attract future students, particularly local high school graduates, according to an SOO Today report. The kiosks will act as one-stop resources for program information, career exploration and even virtual tours of the Sault College campus.
The first kiosk is planned for deployment this fall in the college's Welcome Centre, with additional installations planned for local high schools. There's even the possibility of a kiosk being placed in the Sault Ste. Marie Airport terminal. College officials believe the kiosks will be a valuable tool for guidance counselors, allowing them to better assist students in navigating their educational and career options.
"This is another opportunity, another means by which the guidance counselors can utilize technology to communicate with students in a way that perhaps is more relevant to students in understanding the courses and programs we offer. This is our local catchment area and our local marketplace and we want to do the best job we can in providing that information to young people in our community," David Orazietti, Sault College president, told the news outlet.
Each kiosk is estimated to cost around $5,000.
