Nayax has signed a distribution agreement with Allied Electronics to offer its VPOS Media 5 outdoor payment terminal to fuel retailers across the U.S., according to a press release. The partnership combines Nayax Fuel's payment technology with Allied's service station automation systems.

Allied has supplied the petroleum retail industry since 1978, and its equipment is used at tens of thousands of U.S. locations, according to the release. Nayax Fuel offers technology for payments at dispensers, fueling operations and station management, drawing on its integration of OTI PetroSmart and Roseman.

The companies said the agreement addresses retailers' need to upgrade pump payment systems as card use increases. The release cited National Association of Convenience Stores figures showing cards account for 81% of pump transactions, compared with 64% a decade earlier.
