U.S. healthy vending machine provider Naturals2Go is using facial recognition to offer quick-pick suggestions to its repeat customers.
Naturals2Go says customers can tap the interactive screen on its healthy vending machines to initiate facial recognition mode. The small camera installed in the machine recognizes a repeat customer and offers fast access to their favorite items. It can also offer loyalty discounts and special prices on suggested products.
The camera on the front of the vending machine remains off, until the face recognition mode is activated.
Idaho Falls, Idaho-based Naturals2Go says providing technology tools for its vending operators helps them start faster, grow more quickly, and manage the day to day operations of their business.
"We look for ways to give our vending operators a competitive advantage in an increasingly competitive marketplace, and this new facial recognition service makes us unique," Randy Francis, Naturals2Go's president and founder, said in a statement.
