MultiTouch intalls table kiosk in lobby of Bloomberg's NY office

June 12, 2013

The lobby of the Bloomberg news office in New York has received a digital makeover.

Central to the technology revamp is The Hub, a 55-inch MultiTaction Cell table display by MultiTouch Ltd. that displays live Bloomberg data, topical news and messages.

Standing on a pedestal made up of several tubular lights that change color in response to the color of the content displayed on the table's  surface, The Hub is accessible from all sides. The MultiTaction Cell processes an unlimited number of concurrent touches so that any number of users around The Hub can operate it. The device runs the latest MultiTouch Hybrid Tacking firmware that repels ambient light, which can cause interference.

"We're so proud that a huge household name like Bloomberg has chosen one of our products," said Hannu Anttila, vice president of business development at MultiTouch. "The Hub allows visitors to interact with their environment and underscores Bloomberg's leadership in the fast-paced news industry."

Michael Eisenreich of Bloomberg's digital marketing team said, "The looped footage and the constantly changing color of the LED legs all make The Hub a visually captivating piece. Add to this the facility to play, and you have an installation that engages visitors and promotes the concept that Bloomberg does things differently from its competitors, and incredibly well."
