Kiosk manufacturer comments on new FDA regulations

With new FDA regulations on vending kiosks, AVT Inc. claims its kiosks are up to speed.

September 11, 2015

Recently the FDA passed new regulations requiring vending kiosk owners to disclose the nutritional and caloric information for food and beverages sold at their machines. Kiosk manufacturer AVT claims it has patented technologies that automatically adhere to these new requirements, according to a press release.

"Customers have asked for a new generation of vending machines, and AVT has delivered," Wayne Salvino, president of AVT, said in the release. "We not only have machines that meet FDA requirements, but also have the latest technologies — including patented systems — that take vending to an entirely new level of sophistication, engagement and performance."

AVT has developed several "smart" technologies that provide FDA-complaint nutritional displays, according to the release. The technology is also designed to provide remote system management, on-board advertising screens and product presentation, according to the release.
