Edeka Jensen, a grocery store located in Uetersen, Germany, near Hamburg, has partnered with eyefactive to deploy an interactive touchscreen kiosk solution at its meat counter.

The pilot, deployed at the end of 2025, represents the first touchscreen kiosk pilot within Edeka Germany and aims to improve the customer experience while optimizing in-store processes at the point of sale, according to a press release.

The kiosk is powered by eyefactive's no-code touchscreen software platform.

The interactive touchscreen kiosk Polytouch Swift 24 by Pyramid enables customers to place orders at the fresh food meat counter digitally without waiting in line.

After placing an order, customers receive a printed receipt confirming their order. While a staff member prepares the kiosk order customers can continue shopping. The solution improves convenience, reduces waiting times, and delivers a future-proof smart retail customer experience at the point of sale, according to the release.

Once the order is ready, it can be picked up at a dedicated collection point near the meat counter.

The process significantly reduces perceived waiting times, even during busy periods with visible queues at the counter. Customers no longer need to wait in line, and staff benefit from a structured and efficient order workflow. At the same time, the interactive kiosk creates a futuristic, innovative customer experience that delivers strong marketing value for the store.

"This pilot project shows how interactive touchscreen kiosks can create efficient, future-ready processes at the retail point of sale," Johannes Ryks, eyefactive GmbH, said in the release.
